Walter Payton
Birth: July 25, 1954 Death: November 1, 1999
Payton played the running-back position in football. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1975.
Walter Payton was awarded many records that included: twenty six Bear records and eight NFL records. Payton had scored 125 touchdowns with 16,726 rushing yards; 2,803 all-purpose yards; seventy-seven 100-yard rushing games, and ten 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
Other notable tidbits of information about Walter Payton were that he died from a rare liver disease called sclerosing cholangitis. He also, earned the nickname "Sweetness" because of his kind personality. Finally, Payton entered the Hall of Fame in 1993.
